About Tulum

Located in the beautiful Riviera Maya region, Tulum has carved its own separate, green identity. Apart from being home to breathtaking Mayan ruins on the coast, it has caught the attention of the international community as one of the best beaches destinations in the world. It is a place where small boutique hotels are the norm and where constructions are commonly simple cabañas on the beach. Tulum has already positioned itself as a leader in sustainable and ecological tourism.

Tulum is a Mayan archaeological site on Mexico's Riviera Maya. The buildings that are visible on the site date from the Post-Classic period, around 1200 to 1500 A.D. The most spectacular aspect of Tulum is its location on a cliff overlooking the brilliant turquoise waters of the Caribbean.

Visiting the Tulum Ruins: The Tulum ruins are some of the most visited ruins in Mexico, since it is a relatively small site this means that it can get very crowded. Your best bet is to arrive as early as possible. Since the ruins are small, a couple of hours is sufficient to tour the site. Bring along a bathing suit for a refreshing swim at the Tulum beach after viiting the ruins.

2. Cenote Dos Ojos

A cenote is a natural spring of crystalline water in the middle of nature, the water can be blue or green depending on the vegetation and stones. Cenotes can be fully covered, half-covered or uncovered. Cenote dos ojos has a covered and a half-covered part and boasts deep blue waters. We advise you to bring your snorkeling gear (mask, snorkel and fins). For the diving lovers, you can dive into the underground magnificent caves.
